INTERVIEW/GIVEAWAY - Getting to Know Eden Summers Part 2

**DING DING DING** Ladies for your viewing pleasure - Round 2 with Eden Summers!

That's right, we're back! Today we are talking shop with Eden about writing, publishing, cover art and what this little minx has in store for us for the future.

It's Friday, time to get the weekend started and we're thinking Mojitos! We're crushing the mint as we speak and we've got our white rum, sugar, lime and club soda ready to rock and roll. So Eden let's get this party started shall we?

RR: Hey girlie! Glad to have you back with us again.

Eden: What you talking about girl. I'm always here!

RR: We know you do an awesome job here on Riverina Romantics but tell us, what was the driving force behind writing Concealed Desire and the other projects you have out there right now?

Eden: You two are so sweet, I wish I could kiss you both!

The driving force is definitely the scenes that play like a constant movie in my mind. For as long as I can remember I’ve looked forward to going to bed...not just for the X rated stuff, but for the daydreaming that comes before sleeping. Every night I play out scenes in my mind. They started as romantic notions to help encourage sweet dreams. But over time the stories grew and I decided to stray from the singular romantic scene and figure out how the people in my mind fell in love.

Then once entire stories started to form, I took the next step and started thinking of how I would describe each scene. Then came the writing part...

RR: How did it feel when you got the news that Concealed Desire was going to be published?

Eden: There was a mixture of disbelief, nervousness and a whole heap of ‘holy shit, I’m going to be published’ on repeat.

I was - and still am – stoked. It’s a dream come true, made all the more sweet for having great family and friends to share it with (both online and in real life).

RR: Can you tell us how you got hooked up with your Editor, the most awesome Rachel Firasek and your Publisher, Etopia Press?

Eden: I found this awesomely fabulous lady through a friend who had recently signed a contract with Etopia. Until recently I hadn’t read any of Rachel’s work, but after doing so I can’t be happier to have her as my editor. She has such a great voice in her own stories that I know she will help make mine shine.

RR: What do you envision for your cover and are you involved in the process of helping choose the art for it?

Eden: I love cover art. And I’m one of those naughty people who judge books by their cover, so I am hoping for something that will make me shed tears of joy. ..but no pressure to my cover artist *snort*

At the moment I’m only in the early stages of having my story organised so I’m not entirely sure what involvement I will have. All I can tell you is that I filled out a stack of paperwork for the cover artist so they know as much detail as possible about the story. Etopia are very thorough. They want to know all the finer details to make the cover shine and reflect your story and I can’t wait to see how it turns out. Etopia Press are phenomenal with their cover art so I know I’m in experienced hands.

RR: So what's on tap for you now as far as getting Concealed Desire ready for publication?

Eden: I have already finished the first round of edits and am waiting to go for round two. I'm not entirely sure what each round involves - I'm learning as I go along - but me and my editor are going to make Concealed Desire shine to perfection.

And from now until publication I am trying to pimp myself out as much as possible.

RR: Tell us, what are your writing/publishing plans for 2012?

Eden: I have another short story that I hope to get contracted in the future, a cheeky little piece which I had a lot of fun with – Sneaking A Peek. But apart from that, I just want to write and see what happens. I’d love to finish some of the stories I’ve already started. There’s some damn fine musicians that want their story heard, but Ravaged by Deceit is quite dramatic to start off with and very different from my usual writing.

I would like to step out of my comfort zone and get stuck into my fantasy romance piece too. And I would really like to write a few short stories with some critter buddies of mine – just for fun.

RR: Thanks for hanging with us on this fine Friday Eden!

Eden: You're welcome my sweets.

  3. Fiona babe you couldn't have said it better. ;) Like I said in Part 1, she's my hero.

I am presently setting up my Eden Summer's shrine in my bookcase as we speak. And I'm leaving a hell of a lot of room because I know what she has coming down the pipe.
