Today we are celebrating Romancing the Hop with Eden Baylee. Please make her feel welcome.

Thanks for being with us today Eden, please tell our followers a little about yourself. What is a typical day in the life of ‘Eden’?

Thanks Riverina Romantics for giving me some space on your great site. I’m a Canadian author who left my career as a banker after twenty years to pursue writing full-time. That was January 2010. I write literary erotica and erotic romance and maintain an active blog and social media presence.

Lately, a typical day has been promotion for my new release, Spring into Summer, which is my second anthology of erotic novellas. It came out July 9th.

The book is the companion piece to my first anthology called Fall into Winter. Both books contain stories that take place during specific seasons. The novellas are great character-driven plots of varying heat.

What has been the hardest emotionally or time consuming thing you’ve had to research for one of your stories?

Funny you should ask this question. I wrote a masturbation scene recently, and my editor said it just wasn’t doing it for her. I have a spare way of writing, and sometimes I forget that not all readers are inside my head and need more of the details.

I had to get serious and take a whole afternoon off to do the research. Let’s just say it was exhausting but quite rewarding.

Okay, I can't hold back a huge chuckle at your 'research'. Thank you for sharing. Have any of your characters resembled people in real life?

Yes, I would say they all have some resemblance to people I know or have known. I tend to take attributes of people I admire and infuse them into characters. The female protagonists are usually strong women, and the men are composites of many I’ve come across in my travels.

Do you read reviews of your books? If so, do you pay attention to them enough to
influence your writing?

Yes I do, and it’s mainly because I feel it’s important to connect with readers who’ve taken the time to provide feedback. I usually send a ‘thank you’ note or acknowledgment. I would not say it influences my writing a great deal, but critical reviews will always make me pause to think.

Quickie Question Round

Sexiest feature in a man? Intelligence.

If you were deserted on an island and could only have one man with you – who would it be? Charles Bukowski, if he were alive, of course.

Tell us something on your bucket list. Travel to India.

What is your favourite romance novel by another author? Story of O by Pauline Réage.

Your bookshelf is on fire, you can only save what you can carry what do you save? My laptop.

And lastly, If our viewers wanted to find out more about your work where can they find it and you?

I’ve included all my links below and always look forward to connecting with readers and
other authors.

Bio

Eden Baylee writes literary erotica and erotic romance. Her stories are both sensual
and sexual, incorporating some of her favorite things such as travel, culture, and a deep
curiosity for what turns people on. Spring into Summer is her second collection of erotic
novellas.

About Spring into Summer

In Spring into Summer, a collection of emotionally-charged erotic novellas, four women
explore their sexual limits, marked by love, lust, and loss.

Life for Claire Pelletier is changed forever when she meets a professor who teaches her a
most important lesson in "A Season for Everything."

Evelyn Sutton goes in search of a man in "Unlocking the Mystery" and discovers the key
to her own heart.

With an open mind, Ava Connors attends a party but wonders if reality can ever live up
to her hottest fantasies in "Summer Solstice."

In "The Lottery," Sierra Zhao sacrifices herself to numerous men to help a friend, fully
aware of the consequences.

With locations in London, Dublin, Cape Cod, and Bangkok, these four women will seek
pleasure to alter their lives and push their sexual boundaries.

    1. Hi Maria,
Great question, I designed the cover myself because I like suggestive images but did not want faces on them. It's harder to find the right image for an anthology of stories because each story is very different. This image is actually 3 pictures in one.

    1. Hi JanD,

Yes, there are many names - you may know it more commonly as erotic literature. In a nutshell, it's a story with erotic elements meant to arouse, but sex is not necessarily the driving force of the story, it's a part of it.
Many people consider erotica to be just sex scenes one after the other, and though these books exist, they are not what I write. Mine are heavy on story with sex as a backdrop or foundation to develop the characters.

  41. Great interview. I am doing some Sunday morning reading and I bust out laughing. My husband ask what am I reading and I say. I think I need to get into writing. There are some nice perks to the "research". :-) I am picking up some books today. It sounds that you take your writing and inspiration seriously and you don't just wing it. Some of the best books are the ones that you feel the scene is absolutely real and leaves you breathless.

    1. Hi Shan,
Thanks for the question - it hasn't been asked yet. Literary erotica is akin to erotic literature - it's story-driven writing that is erotic in nature, but does not necessarily have romance included. Erotic romance has a strong element of romance in the story, with or without a happily ever ending.
Really appreciate your question and good luck with the contest,

I love the happy ending that is garenteed at the end. My favorite book is Lover Mine by JR Ward! I love John Matthew and Xhex. My favorite romantic moment was when my fiancé asked me to marry him! We meant two years ago right around when summer was ending when my friend and I went out for our last big night out before classes started again. I love the locations for Spring Into Summer, have you visited all of them? If so, which is your favorite?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi Pyper,
No, your question has not been asked yet, no worries ;) Yes, I've visited all the places I wrote about in this book. I really loved Ireland and found the people there extremely warm and friendly. Thailand was magical in so many ways, and the last story where it takes place is close to my heart.

It's hard to have a favorite place because they each conjure up different memories. If you must visit one though, go to Thailand - it's delightful in every way.
